I didn’t want to do it, but I have to do it, and now I can’t stop doing it.
BAKING COOKIES!
Some recipes I converted to be vegan, and some I used from this awesome cookie book Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar by Isa Chandra Moskowitz. I’m about halfway through my list, 5 more to go.

PIGNOLI:

NAKED FLORENTINES (what, they don’t have chocolate on them yet.)

And the ones with 3 eggs in them because I just don’t know how to substitute a whopping 3 whole eggs without f*ing up the recipe,

The time has come to try and knit an adult garment, for myself! Courage my friend. I making Francis Revisted , don’t have Ravelry? Shame on you, then you’ll have to go here.

I really like it so far! I want to say that the pattern is pretty easy, but I didn’t put aside stitches for the sleeves yet and I’m well aware how an easy pattern can take a turn for the worse.

I’m digging this yarn too. ( Tahki Yarns Shannon)

Hooray for me! My mom liked the sweater vest! Boo for me! She asked me to make another vest, different style. Here is my mantra: find the pattern ma, find the pattern ma, find the pattern ma.
My baby sack sleeper for the car seat/stroller is done. I haven’t blocked it or woven in the ends, but hey, the kid it’s for is due in March. I’ve got time.

I know that one arm hole is trying to get up and walk away. I don’t know what happened there.

I finished my mom’s sweater, only to have her change her mind about the shape, armhole size and length. This was after it was tried on, all the seams done and ends woven in. Breathe in, breathe out.

So I carefully picked out the weaved in ends, unseamed, and ripped out several inches down to the start of the armholes. I just wanted to ball this up and throw it away. What sweater Mom? I have no idea what you’re talking about, but you owe me $20 for yarn. I did ball it up, but it went into my knitting bag for a month.

Yesterday, it was DO or DIE, get this vest complete, gift it, and wipe my hands of it. I’ll let you know if she likes this one.

Pattern was from Knit Simple, but I severely adapted distorted it to meet my own needs, and was mostly just used as a reference. I have a much higher respect ( I always did, but know it’s super high! ) for people who write their own patterns.

You know there is going to be trouble when you have baby powder footprints across the house.

I really love that it’s back to school. I really don’t like getting everyone ready for 8am.
Yea for knitting with wool!! It’s chilly at night now, so I appreciate have a nice article of wool sitting in my lap.
This is the sleep sack progress.

What’s that hole for? A buckle from the car seat and/or stroller. I don’t really know if it’ll will work, or if I put the hole at the correct length. We shall see.
I also finished this baby hat. Doesn’t fit my 16m old. I guess I imagine her as a little headed baby, when in fact she is a big headed toddler. Sigh.

And my mother wants me to make a vest for her. I’m honored that she thinks my knitting is wearable by her. She is an excellent seamstress and I don’t even come close. She has made her fair share of clothes for me and my family so this is definately owed to her.
With that said. She has no concept of knitting. The cost, the time, the shaping. So I’m trying trying to be patient. I feel like I’m 7yr old sewing a felt pillow for Mother’s Day.

Or baby blanket I should say. I’m having difficulty deciding what color should go next, and if I should incorporate stripes before the color change. Hmm, what to do?
